Mark Hahn Memorial 300

14th Annual Mark Hahn 300 Memorial

This is the longest PWC (personal watercraft)  race in the world, covering a total of 300 tough miles in 30 successive laps of a ten mile course, starting off the beach at Crazy Horse (famous for hosting the IJSBA World Finals).  It runs north along the Arizona shoreline, turning towards Havasu Landing and running down the California shore nearly to Site Six, and back to Crazy Horse to complete a lap. The race features the only true Le Mans start currently in motorsports of any type. In this, the racers are lined up along the beach, holding up their safety “key” while their crew chief holds their PWC in the water with the engine off. At an undetermined time during a two minute window, a shotgun is fired and the riders run to the water, jump on their PWC, start their engine (hopefully quickly!) and race off toward the north turn, a few miles up course. This start not only adds excitement (the atmosphere is so heavy with adrenalin before the starting gun that you can cut it with a knife) it also provides a level of separation for the racers adding a safety factor.

If you like riding your PWC fast this may be the ultimate personal adventure for you! No special training or experience is required. And a factory stock PWC is still the best bet for racing. Stock reliability usually trumps the high horsepower custom hot rods in this race. You have to be still running 300 miles after the start to finish the race, let alone win.

“Bert’s Mega Mall” Purchase

WCWCC Member Testimonial: Jay

Last weekend I purchased a new 2017 Yamaha FX HO Cruiser from Andrew Munoz at Bert’s in Covina. Andrew made the purchase process fast and easy in addition to providing a great price. Though I didn’t finance the ski, Gary M took care of the paperwork, great guy! Erik in Check-out provided the Yamaha Kit, went over the ski and assisted in loading the ski on the trailer. The entire acquisition process was smooth! Even the staff in Parts and Accessories personally attended to me. To sum it up, Bert’s has a “Great Team” in place.

As a coincidence, a Club Member had the identical take away experience a few weeks prior to my purchase. Andrew assisted him as well.

Thanks Lewis for Organizing another great Trip to the Delta. You did a great job navigating us through the complex channels of the Delta. Enjoyed exploring some new as well as old familiar routes I have note been through in a while. I think I speak for all when I state my appreciation for your laser focus on mapping while you were riding. Thanks again!

“Ask George” Episode 3

Testimonial: Lewis

When I met George I was inspired how he was so thorough about every aspect of the inner workings of watercrafts and boats.

George reminds me of a mechanical genius who has involved himself with many challenges and workarounds to keep each and every customer informed and is very meticulous about his work.

After many thoughts and discussions, I approached George with a great opportunity and a different approach to a brighter future, one that he admires 24/7.

George is the icon for the West Coast Watercraft Club and will be noticed as askgeorge on all social media websites.

There is another link here that is helping us grow. A special thanks goes out the Steven… who has created what we have today. His expertise has opened our eyes and the potential to move forward is uplifting.

Our goals are to revolutionize the PWC industry with our video production services and our how to videos. Over the past few months we have established ourselves with many videos which will air on our YouTube site every Thursday.

I hope you enjoyed the videos as we have lots more on the horizon. If you have a suggestion for a video please email us at info@wcwcc.com.

WCWCC YUMA TRIP 2017

WCWCC member Testimonial:Darrell
Once again thanx to Lewis for another great ride. Water level was 3-4 ft below normal so riding to Walter’s was a challenge. Never experienced anything like that before, dodging sandbars the entire way. Even going in and out of Walters was a challenge. Almost everyone got beached in one form or another, including myself. Other than a couple ingested wooden sticks and a tap on the shoulder by the local authorities, we got back ok. All good. Great experience.

Service testimonial “Brian”

WCWCC member Testimonial: Brian

This is a written testimonial from a WCWCC club members experience at Solmar Marine Powersports. This is why we partnered up with George to be our official WCWCC club mechanic. His reputation is respectful and understanding to the owners. His customer service is arguably the best in the business. Just read the testimonial below and you will hear it from an avid customer below.

“I recently had some work done by George Perez while he was still working for Del Amo Motorsports in Long Beach. Now I’ve never been a big fan of dealers or mechanics in general , but the time and attention George took with the recent repair on my 2013 Sea Doo RXP-X, (leaking Intercooler) was painless, easy and most importantly, perfectly executed. He went through the entire machine and even replaced the Resonator which he found to be questionable. All of this work was performed under warrantee.

The thing I found that sets George apart from the average mechanic is his extensive knowledge and understanding of these machines. The man has a ton of experience and truly has a passion for watercraft. He takes the time to thoroughly go through them, then he walks you through what he’s found. He’s also a great communicator and keeps in touch with you the entire time. He’ll text you and seems to be always available, (even after hours).

Being as good as he is, George recently opened his own shop.

Whether it be regular maintenance, oil changes, or to install some serious mods, George can do it all. I’ll be taking my Sea Doo in shortly for some pump maintenance and have him do the Supercharger.

Lastly, a lot of us take pride in our machines and don’t want to see them treated poorly by a dealer. The last thing you want to have happen is to arrive to pick it up and see some new scratches,… or worse.

George took a lot of care to safeguard my machine while it was with him, and it came back to me exactly how I dropped it off. This really meant a lot to me.

If you have any work to be done, give him a call. You won’t be disappointed.

Thanks everyone!!”
